HUDSON, Ohio – LeafFilter™ Gutter Protection, the nation’s leading gutter protection company, has been named the 2013 title sponsor for the University of Akron Summer Jamboree Golf Outing.

For the second-straight year, LeafFilter™ Gutter Protection will host the Zips football program’s Summer Jamboree Golf Outing. This year’s event will be played at Medina Country Club in Medina, Ohio on Monday, June 10th. The golf outing provides an excellent opportunity to spend time with University of Akron alumni, former players and second-year head coach Terry Bowden and his staff.

“The support we receive from alumni and fans of Zips Football will aid us in our quest to be Mid-American Conference champions,” Bowden wrote in the Jamboree Golf Outing pamphlet. “I look forward to seeing [everyone] at this tremendous event.”

At this point, the Jamboree Golf Outing has sold out and reached maximum capacity with 36 foursomes, but seats are still available for those interested in attending the dinner and awards ceremony at 4 p.m. on Monday, June 10th.

The golf outing will get started with registration at 9:30 a.m. ET, with a shotgun start then scheduled for 11 a.m. Cost for just the dinner and awards portion of the event is $35 and reservations are due by 5 p.m. on Friday, June 7th to Anthony Henderson, University of Akron Director of Athletics Development, at (330) 972-7117.

Medina Country Club, located just a few minutes south of Medina’s historic Medina Square, is a classic 27-hole golf course. Built in the late fifties, Medina is known for its sizeable, fast and true greens, picturesque tree-lined fairways, and gently rolling hills.

Last year, the golf outing attracted more than 30 teams that participated in the event, as well as 20 different corporate sponsors assisting the Jamboree at The Quarry Golf Club in Canton, Ohio. In 2012, the event raised nearly $13,000 for the Zips Football Enhancement Fund, which supplies financial support for the football program including funds for summer scholarships, book, recruiting and many other outlets.
